A Note of Praise

Ahhh, The relief of having all the Christmas shopping done, and being ahead of my normal last minute panic.  Now the only thing left for this year, is getting the kids out to finish their shopping.

Anti-Social: Less Stress the Old Fashioned Way

Every day I park my widening backside in front of the glowing portal to the world, and learn something new.  Someone invents some new technology, or a company produces some new tool or gadget to improve our lives in some way.  Jumping from my email, to my reader, then to the social sites, groups and then forums.  All this simplicity is so complex.

A Sappy Post: The Old Tape

While raiding the basement for Christmas decorations, my boys came across a tote full of old VHS tapes.  They were put into storage years ago when DVD's dominated our collection and space in the entertainment center was too valuable to accommodate them any more.  As they dug through the bin they found a number of old movies that have completely fallen out of my memory.  Classics that I watched when I was their age, that I just never thought about to replace or even look for in another format.  A lot of the 80's classics like the movie Explorers (featuring River Phoenix, and Ethan Hawk), my dads collection of Abbott and Costello movies, and piles of old home movies long forgotten.

Give Credit to Christmas

Oh my!  Today is Wallet Wednesday... the only shopping day of the Christmas season that you may not need to take out your wallet for some special deal on something you really never wanted or needed before you noticed the deal.  Why is there no need to take out your wallet?  simple, because in the last few days of fighting grandma at the mall for that half priced LCD toaster Blue ray player, or browsing Cyber Monday deals thankfully at home so your bruises can heal from the Black Friday experience (soon to be a Six Flags ride), some clever individual managed to nab some info and swiped your identity.  So while you are finally relaxed and not shopping, you still actually are.  Or at least your credit is.
